Five heads. Full of words and empty headed. 

There comes a moment in the process of creation where suddenly “something” other than you takes over. Six or seven years ago I mounted this paper on a panel and made a mark, right in the middle, right where the head is exploding. The mark is gone now, I think it was a cross. I don’t remember. The idea was to aim at this mark. To direct attention to it. 

There are words in the background. Leonardo’s words, mirrored. I find them exquisite. His hand was enlightened. I can’t tell you how much I love his hand. I would kiss it. 

Pinhead is exploding. Although his heart is coming out of his head, he is not dead. His eyes are wide open. Is he enlightened or is it madness? 

What interests me the most are the marks across his body. Strange, seemingly random formations from when I used this panel as a background for burning and working on other pieces of paper. What you are seeing down below is largely an accident.
