Olim & the Infernal Bloom
A children's story
Olim the Bat loved the night, the freedom it offered. One evening, whispers filled the air about a flower that glowed mysteriously. Intrigued, Olim flew through the dark forest to find it.
There it was, a flower unlike any other, its petals glowing like embers. Olim couldn’t resist; he hung upside down beside it, captivated by its allure.
But this was no ordinary flower. Its glow was a slow burn, a hidden blaze. Within moments, Olim’s wings caught fire. He felt a searing pain but couldn’t understand what was happening until he saw the flames.
Olim plunged into a nearby pond, extinguishing his burning wings. When he looked back, he saw the forest ablaze, the fire spreading like a relentless tide. Animals fled in terror; trees that had stood for centuries were reduced to ash.
The Earth was burning, and it all started here, with him and this flower.
Olim returned to his cave, forever scarred by the night’s events. The lesson was harsh but clear: Beware the allure of a flower, for its beauty masks a destructive force that can consume the world.
The end.
